i don't quite get why people need to constantly involve themselves in my work when it really isn't very glamourous or that exciting
I book shows. More or less just out of necessity. If someone else wanted to do it then i'd be all for it, but no one else seems keen so i'm happy to do it all.
But if no one else is keen to do it then why do people always try and involve themselves in this and try and take credit for shit that has nothing to do with them? or even sometimes come in and tell particular bands they're playing particular shows when that person doesn't have shit do with anything? they're just fucking my shit up
last year some desmond started telling people he was booking shows that I had booked
and yeah cool, i could care less if he wanted to tell people he was booking parkway drive or some shit
but when he started contacting bands and telling them they were playing my shows, i was off it
and now it's happening again
over the next few months there are a shit load of shows booked
and i've gone through with each touring company and so on and worked out bills for them
we've agreed on particular bands playing particular shows to make sure shit is varied but still flows
now i've found out, my venue guy who i go to to find me venues for these shows, has been telling young bands who are nowhere near ready to play shows of this size, that they're playing my fucking shows
this dude has nothing to do with the bands or the promotion, he's just a venue guy
so why the fuck is he overstepping his bounds and telling some band thats played one show before that they're playing with fucking bleeding through?
it's doing my head in
what the fuck is wrong with people?
in other news, i spent today drawing some babes for the parkway banner and scrims for the sweatfest tour
they're looking hot
now i just have to draw the last few elements and this shit will be hilarious
also, the new antagonist record is just direct arkangel worship and it's fucking incredible
